4th of July, a test for the best

The fourth of July was probably the last thing I was looking forward to upon starting Vegan summer. The fourth is, in many ways, anti-vegan day. A day to challenge the best of the best. Luckily, I survived.

When you think of the fourth, you think of: fireworks, beaches, three corner hats, and MEAT. LOTS AND LOTS OF MEAT. The summation of my fourth, was a little different.

It started off with some wonderful grilled veggies, zucchini and summer squash of course. Drizzled in olive oil and pepper. Quickly followed by nicely grilled portabella mushroom cap drenched in lemon juice. The outsides were nice and crispy, yet the inside was still soft. The meal then finished with some finely char grilled tofu covered in spicy barbecue sauce. All setup shed down with some delicious home brewed beer made by my very mother herself.

I unfortunately don’t have any photos to supply you with because it as that good. But here’s a cute pic of the dog I played with all day :)
